This country was once a British Colony but obtained their independence on August 30, 1957. Its name was once Malaya , shortly after regaining its independence it was named Malaysia.

Popular Destinations in Malaysia are:

Historic Malacca was inscribed on the World Heritage List on July 7 2008. If you want to see Malaysia historic culture on a clearer picture , visit Malacca.

The Food Capital of Malaysia ; Penang is one of the most popular tourist destination in Malaysia because of the great tasting food that are cheap and being sold on the streets. In fact, food lovers all over the world recognises Penang as having the Best Street Food in Asia (read the article in TIME magazine 2004).

When you love to shop you also love cheap frills, bargain, discount, duty free (no tax). This is what the Island of Langkawi is known for. The island is lined with duty free shops where you can buy chocolates, wines and spirits, cigarettes, clothes. Don't bother bringing luggages because here its cheap.

Langkawi is also known as a Honeymooner's Paradise with its fine white beaches and romantic setting. Here you may find Langakawi Cable Car.


For family entertainment , kids (and parents) will surely love Sunway Lagoon . Just 30mins away from KL city , this amusement theme park features rides in both the water park and its adjacent dry park.

Also in KL city one should not miss Petronas Twin Towers and KL Tower. It think it is best viewed at night when all its lights illuminating the massive structure.


Genting Highlands on the other hand home to the famous Genting Highlands Resort or otherwise known as Resort World Genting which can be reached from Kuala Lumpur by car in 1 hour. It can also be reached by a cable car called Genting Skyway.

From Manila flights going to Kuala Lumpur are available via Cebu Pacific, Malaysian Airlines, Singapore Airlines (connect in Singapore), Air Asia (depart in Clark).

There are 2 airports (domestic/int'l) in Kuala Lumpur. The KLIA and KLCCT. Most budget airlines uses KLCCT terminal. Remember that these airports are outside KL city center and travel time is 45 mins to 1 hour depending on the traffic.


Public transportation such as bus and taxis are available for short and long distances travel.

WARNING: Do not to accept offers from touts in the arrival foyer because they usually charge more than Airport Limo taxis. Even if you are shown what seems to be legitimate price lists. These touts are usually drive private vehicles not meant to ferry passengers and the drivers do not have PSV (public service vehicle) licenses to take passengers. You will also not be covered by insurance if an accident happens.
